Monthly Update: Bye Bye November
Bye bye November, hello Christmas.
It seems like yesterday I was dressing up as a witch for Halloween, and now we’re moving into December, and I’m going to a Christmas concert this week. Woah. I bought stamps to mail Christmas cards, but now I’ve decided not to; I will save the stamps for letters (they’re expensive now. At least they last Forever). I’m currently helping to babysit a little white pit bull named Lily. She is full of energy, she loves walks, and she spends the night in a crate because she will more than likely tear up her owner’s house. She ripped up two cat toys at my house. John and I take her to the dog park, and she behaves very well (we used to take my dad’s dog, Sugar Baby, to the dog park in Ormond. She loved it). I stopped one of my medications, and I’m breaking my other pills in half now; seems to be helping. Thanksgiving was nice: we went to John’s parent’s condo on the beach; his niece brought her baby, Freddy Jupiter (they call him “Jup”). I got a new winter jacket at Goodwill; it reminds me of my old aviator jacket, which I’ve retired and is becoming stiffer by the day hanging outside on the porch (I really don’t want to throw it away. It reminds me of getting off work at the B&B on a snowy day). I’ve developed this strange pain in my lower back, and I don’t know if it’s just common back pain or a sign of organ dysfunction, like my kidneys (most of the water I drink is filtered through coffee grounds). I’ll see if it goes away. I got all the art crap cleaned up off my desk, but now it’s cluttered with other stuff, like gifts bags and scraps of wrapping paper. I change outfits throughout the day like I’m starring in my own play, but mostly going from shorts to pants to shorts to pants again because of the crazy weather (is the weather really crazy or am I just crazy?). We went to the big flea market, and I got some things for my mom’s Christmas box, plus a cup of burnt coffee (eh. That’s how I used to drink it at the bowling alley). My mom just had a birthday this month, and I got her a card that said “I hope no one else got you a dead bird.” I thought it was funny and appropriate (because she has a cat). We bought a giant box of hot chocolate packets from BJs; I guess I’m going to drink a lot of hot cocoa this winter. Right now I have a jug of apple cider in the fridge; I like it hot. But I really like the Welch’s sparkling white grape juice (non-alcoholic) for the holidays; I plan on buying a bottle (it’s my Shirley temple champagne). Our two cats have not returned; that is sad (I miss my little gray). One of our mean neighbors is moving away. I’ll drink to that.
It’s time to eat, drink, and be merry. Happy Holidays.
